I remember studying myths back in school many, many years ago. Professor Plato used to tell the funniest Zeus jokes! Until that day when he got struck by lightning, that is. Of course, today we have urban myths, such as the girl who starved to death when her foot got stuck in the toilet she was standing on while trying to smoke a cigarette outside the bathroom window, and slipped. Then there is the one about the man who got elected president even though his opponent had many more votes. Oh, wait... Sheesh. Ok, this one is based on ancient Roman and Greek gods and goddesses.
