I keep hearing the phrase “short-time” lately, and am trying to figure out what it means.
In one case I thought it meant how long I would be waiting for my order at McNuggets. (I was wrong about that one – again!)
Then I thought it meant how much time the mechanic was going to charge me for working on my car. (I didn’t know he charged by the second, including the time he spent on his cell phone and taking his coffee break.)
Then I thought it meant how long until supper was ready. (I’m still waiting, and starving!)
Then I realized it meant how long it takes Bob’s wife to work the word search puzzle. (Bob’s wife is really smart although I still can’t figure out how come she married him.)
Enjoy!
