Bob put a really bright light up in his backyard today.
When it came on, it lit up half of the neighborhood.
He said he traded his car for it.
I asked him if that wasn’t an expensive trade, and he explained that his car’s front end was all bashed up and the roof caved in.
Knowing I would regret it, I asked anyway how that happened.
He explained that he hit a light pole and the street light came to rest just south of his car’s roof, and since the city was getting his car, he was going to take their light.
I started to explain that things didn’t work that way but the police showed up and took both Bob and the light.
Deciding I wasn’t in the mood to deal with him, I turned my phone off right after I sent his wife a text message and went inside to watch some TV.
I imagine his wife used that as the clue to turn her phone off and get some sleep, too! Bob can wait, I’m sure, and this trade wasn’t a bright thing to do.
